After the French translation that came out a year ago of the book by Br Mario Chiarapini, FSC, entitled La collina racconta, the Spanish translation entitled Vuelve sobre tus pasos has also been published, at the initiative of the Universidad de La Salle, Bogotá.
The book presents the figure and matters of Saint John Baptist de La Salle in a singular way or, as Brother Léon Lauraire, who translated it into French, stated, “a peculiar biography of De La Salle, original in the form adopted, but faithful to history”, dwelling in particular on an important and decisive episode in the life of our Saint, that of 1714 on the hill of Parménie.
The Spanish edition, Vuelve sobre tus pasos, was commissioned by the Universidad de La Salle, Bogotá. The title evokes the situation experienced by the prophet Elijah on Mount Horeb, to whom God orders him to retrace his steps, just as he did with the Founder, asking him to take up the reins of the Institute.
On 27 April 2023, Brother William Fernando Duque, translator of the text in the Spanish version, and Brother Mario Chiarapini, author of the book, presented the work together at the International Book Fair in Bogotá.
Also present at the event were the highest academic authorities, many Brothers from Bogotá with Brother Visitor Diego José Díaz Díaz. After the presentation and panel discussion, the ritual of dedications and autographs followed.
The book is easily accessible to a wide audience, so it will be disseminated not only in Colombia but also in the other Lasallian Districts of Latin America.
