Each year, the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools produces a report that compiles the most relevant statistics, at a global level, of the Brothers, the communities, the educational works, the students, the partners and the associates, among others.

On this occasion, the Statistics of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools as of 31 December 2023 are arranged in eleven chapters which provide some general and comparative data, as well as the statistics of Brothers by age groups – at the level of Regions and Districts – the statistics of the Lasallian Educational Mission by Regions, the statistics of the Institute between 2013 and 2023, the statistics from 2013 to 2023 by Regions, and the statistics of the last decade for each of the Regions of the Institute: PARC, RELAF, RELAL, RELAN and RELEM.

In the light of this report, it can be seen that, up to 31 December 2023, the number of communities worldwide was 543, the Institute had 2,883 Brothers, of whom 2,604 had professed perpetual vows and 279 temporary vows.

In the course of the past year, 117 Brothers died, 19 Brothers in perpetual vows and 16 in temporary vows left the Institute, while 42 new Brothers made their perpetual profession and 45 made their first vows.

On the other hand, in 2023 there were 83 novices and 285 aspirants and postulants globally, while the number of Lay Associates with public commitment reached 1,561.

The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools is currently organised into 5 Regions, 28 Districts and 2 Delegations, with a presence in 78 countries worldwide.

The number of Lasallian schools and educational works is 1,154, with 1,160,328 students and 79,851 people who benefit from non-formal works. Similarly, 107,827 collaborators, including teachers, Brothers of the Christian Schools, religious men and women and priests, are engaged in the Lasallian Educational Mission.
