Proche-Orient – Appointment of Brother Visitor
Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, recently appointed Brother Habib Zraibi as Visitor of the Proche-Orient District. His mandate will run for four years, from 15 July 2023 to 14 July 2027.
Born in 1950, Brother Habibi took his first vows in 1970 and before being appointed to this post, he held various positions: professor of mathematics and catechesis from 1975 to 1979, Director of various schools and colleges from 1981 until 2006, MEL Coordinator for Lebanon in two different phases: from 2003 to 2007 and from 2011 to 2015.
He has also served as Bursar for both the District (from 2003 to present) and the RELEM Region (from 2019 to present).
The Proche-Orient District includes Lebanon, Egypt/Sudan, the Holy Land, Jordan and Turkey.
Proche-Orient currently has 28 Brothers active in Lasallian schools and institutions: 10 in Lebanon, 9 in Egypt/Sudan, 8 in the Holy Land and Jordan, and 1 in Turkey (Brother Habib).
There are currently more than 26,000 Lasallian students in all the Proche Orient territories, with a higher percentage in Egypt.
