Meeting of MEL Council of RELEM at the Generalate
Last Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th May 2024, the Council of the Lasallian Educational Mission (MEL) of the Lasallian Region of Europe Mediterranean (RELEM), together with the RELEM Team, held the meeting corresponding to the third term of the academic year 2023-2024. As usual, it was held at the Generalate in Rome.
Monday’s session was dedicated to a short reminder of the projects approved to be part of the Leavening Project, as a Region, thinking about what should be the next steps to be taken.
Later on, and in smaller groups, they focused on what dynamics could be carried out around three themes which emerged from the last Regional Assembly: Accompanying young Lasallians; evangelisation and connecting the Region with the teams and commissions of the Institute.
On Tuesday, almost the entire morning was dedicated to the sharing of the Assembly’s working group on Axis No. 1, which discussed its work plan in order to be able to meet the Assembly’s deadline.
There was also a presentation of the experience lived by young Lasallians in Upper Egypt, as part of the “Fraternity in Action” movement.
There was also a space for an update on life in the Districts and the different situations in the Districts and in the Delegation of RELEM.
In the afternoon, the process of drawing up the work calendar for the next academic year (2024 – 2025) was finalised.
The meeting was used as an opportunity to say farewell and to thank Brother Jesús Félix Martínez for his work as councillor of the Arlep District over the last few years.
