From 20 to 25 March, Brothers Rafael Cerón and Chris Patiño, General Councillors of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, made a pastoral visit to the Argentina-Paraguay District.

During these days, the Councillors shared spaces of fraternity and exchanged experiences with Lasallians from some of the works in Argentina, at the same time as holding meetings with the District Leadership Community, with the leaders of Provincialate teams and with the District Council. Brother Martín Digilio, who belongs to the District and is a member of the General Council, also took part in these meetings.

Renewing fraternity and bonds

“During our visits, the focus that we work on is around the idea that We are 1 La Salle, walking together in the District and in the Institute”, remarked Brother Chris, emphasising that these days have made it possible “to share a look at the peripheries, where the Mission is leading us today and how we can take concrete steps to be more and more available to those who are most in need”. In this sense,” Brother Chris pointed out, “we renewed our fraternity and reflected on how to be leaven for a more fraternal world”.

Brother Rafael, for his part, referred to the importance of strengthening the nodes and networks: “this visit also has the objective of discovering and deepening the dynamics and processes which are being delivered as a District”. In this way,” continues Brother Rafael, “it is an opportunity to understand better how the different nodes of this great network that we form, both in the District and in the Region  of Latin America and at a global level, are interrelated“.

During the pastoral visit, the Brother Councillors were accompanied by several Brothers and Lasallians, in particular by Brother Nicolás Chamorro, District Visitor, Brother Ulises Vera, District Bursar, and Brother Sergio Franco, District Executive Director.

They also shared a day at the Fundación Armstrong – Colegio La Salle González Catán, where they were welcomed by Brother Alejandro Bruni, coordinator of the Formation Commission and Director General of the Institution, and visited some of the spaces that the Instituto Pastoral de la Adolescencia (IPA) -Pastoral Institute for Adolescents- runs in the neighbourhoods of the City of Buenos Aires.

Before concluding the visit, the Brother Councillors visited some of the schools in the DAC Network of schools, associated with La Salle. During this last day they also took stock of the visit together with the Brother Visitor and the Leadership Community at the Provincialate.

“We thank the Brothers for their visit, hoping that they will help us to continue to grow as a community of faith and educational service for transformation,” observed the organisers of the pastoral visit.
