Water is our most precious resource!
We are pleased to present the 2022-23’s “Global Citizenship Education” Campaign “Water is our most precious resource”, which is made possible through a supportive partnership among our Lasallian charity organizations PROYDE, PROIDEBA, PROIDE, PROEGA, SOPRO, SEMIL, La Salle International Foundation, De La Salle Solidarietà Internazionale ONLUS and Marist and Claretian nonprofits organization, and thanks to the coordination of PROYDE and in particular Laura García Saavedra (PROYDE – Responsable Departamento Educación para el Desarrollo).
These annual campaigns are aimed at our students of all ages to inform them about global citizenship topics based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
These SDGs are a universal call-to-action in ending poverty, protecting the planet, and improving the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere, by 2030 (https://sdgs.un.org/goals).
Each year, in October, the campaign based on an SDG is launched.
For the 2022-23 academic year, the campaign is entitled “Water is our most precious resource, “and it deepens the themes related to SDG#6 “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.”
Water is a fundamental element of life, essential for people and all life. It is an essential resource for societies and cultures around the world. But what do we know about water? How many people have access to this resource, and are we taking care of this universal good?
Currently, water scarcity affects more than 40% of the world’s population and this percentage is likely to increase.
Water is our most precious resource so for our organizations, it is essential to raise awareness of the importance of protecting and caring for water since it is not a consumer product, but an essential natural resource for future generations and for our planet.
Taking care of it is in your hands
