Establishment of the Institute’s International Publications Committee
Given the need “to be more deliberate and focused on the priority themes and key messages that are at the heart of our Lasallian publications”, Br. Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has established the Institute’s International Publications Committee, which will work close with the Office of Lasallian Heritage and Research, and the Office of Information and Communication.
The main functions of this Committee are, first of all, to “determine the editorial lines and collections to be carried out during the next five years”, for example: Cahiers Lasalliens, Lasallian Studies, MEL Bulletins, Bulletin of the Institute, Lasallian Reflections.
Secondly, the Committee will assess “the current and emerging needs of the global Lasallian Family in the area of publications” in order to “provide regular feedback to the Institute Councils and Offices for continuous improvement of available resources“.
Finally, the Institute’s International Publications Committee will “recommend to the Superior General and Institute Councils the thrusts and overall priorities, directions and medium of dissemination for Lasallian publications“.
To carry out this mission, the Brother Superior General has appointed the seven members of the Committee for a term of three years: Br. Santiago Rodríguez Mancini FSC, Director of the Office of Lasallian Heritage and Research; Br. Jacques D’Huiteau FSC, from the Lasallian Region of Europe-Mediterranean – RELEM; Br. Pierre Ouattara FSC, from the Lasallian Region of Africa-Madagascar – RELAF; Br. Rey Mejias FSC, from the Regional Conference of Asia Pacific – PARC; Br. Ernest Miller FSC, from the Lasallian Region of North America – RELAN; Br. Junior Schnorrenberger FSC, from the Lasallian Region of Latin America – RELAL; and Mr. Óscar Elzalde, Director of the Office of Information and Communication.
In thanking the generous availability of the members of the Committee, praying for guidance in fulfilling their responsibilities, Br Armin Luistro underlines that “each Lasallian resource is a privileged instrument to communicate the mandate of the 46th General Chapter and III AIMEL so we can journey together in creative fidelity and heroic audacity”. There is also a need “to consider the contributions we could make to the ongoing reflections in the Church and the world”.
