Appointment of the Brother Visitor of the District of Mexico Norte for a second term of office
Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has appointed Brother Carlos Castañeda Casas for a second term as Visitor of the District of Mexico Norte, from 15 May 2024 until 14 May 2027.
Born in the city of Zacatecas, in the north-central region of Mexico, on 12 September 1970, Brother Carlos entered the Aspirancy of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in 1985, pronounced his first vows in 1988 and his perpetual profession in 1996.
After completing his University studies at the Centro de Estudios Superiores La Salle de Monterrey, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Sciences; he also earned a Master’s Degree in Education with a major in cognitive processes from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. He also holds a PhD in Education and Educational Leadership from the Universidad Autónoma del Noreste.
In his educational ministry he has served various roles as a teacher and Primary Schools Principal, as well as Academic Director and President of University.
He has also been Secretary of Mission of the District of Mexico Norte and for five years he has been Secretary of Mission of the Lasallian Region of Latin America (RELAL), and has also been a member of the International Council for Association and the Lasallian Educational Mission (CIAMEL).
In May 2021, he was appointed Visitor of the District of Mexico Norte for a three-year term, a responsibility he will continue to serve, for a second term, until May 2027.
