Appointment of the Brother Visitor of the District of Argentina-Paraguay
Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has appointed Brother Nicolás Chamorro as Visitor of the District of Argentina-Paraguay for a period of three years beginning on 1 October 2024 and ending on 30 September 2027.
Brother Nicolás was born on 31 March 1981. He is an old student of Colegio La Salle Jobson (Santa Fe, Argentina), where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Business Degree. Between 2004 and 2010 he did theological, philosophical and biblical studies with the Brothers of the Christian Schools during his initial formation as a Brother. He did his Postulancy in Malvinas Argentinas and his Novitiate in Porto Alegre (Brazil). In May 2018 he took his Perpetual Vows.
Regarding his academic career, Brother Nicolás holds a degree in Public Accounting from the Universidad Empresarial Siglo XXI (Córdoba, Argentina), a major in Social Economics and Management of Non-profit Organisations from the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (Buenos Aires, Argentina), and is currently working on his thesis for a Master’s Degree in Social and Solidarity Economics from the Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento (Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina).
As a teacher, he has taught Accounting and Projects of Management and Development at Colegio La Salle Jobson (2003 – 2004), and has taught Political Economics at various Lasallian educational institutions since 2011. He is also the author of several books and articles on the Economics model of association and Economics in a pastoral school, among other topics.
Likewise, in his District he has exercised his ministry coordinating projects such as “Todos a estudiar” (Everyone to study!) and the Housing Fund and micro-credits to support the construction and improvement of housing (2005 – 2009). Between 2011 and 2012 he was responsible for national cooperation projects of the Armstrong Foundation Argentina, and the Director of national and international cooperation and development projects of the La Salle Foundation Argentina.
He has also served as the Director of Colegio La Salle Buenos Aires for eight years (2013 – 2021), and since 2013 he has been the Bursar of the La Salle Education Network. At the time of his appointment as Visitor he was also Director of Colegio La Salle Argüello.
