Brother Superior General has appointed Brother Diego José Díaz Díaz as Visitor of the District of Bogotá for a period of 4 years, starting on 21 November 2020 and ending on 20 November 2024.

Brother Diego José was born in Bogota, Colombia on 30th July 1973. He has a degree in Religious Education from La Salle University and he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Theology and his Licentiate (Master’s degree) in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

He has been a teacher, educational administrator and school director, as well as novitiate director and he was responsible for Lasallian formation at La Salle University in Bogotá. He is a permanent collaborator of the Conference of Religious of Colombia and is part of the theological team of the Pan-Amazonian Network.

He is currently the director of a school in San Vicente del Caguán, a town in the south of Colombia.

The Lasallian District of Bogota is located in Colombia, South America and it belongs to the Latin American Lasallian Region. It is currently made up of 97 Brothers, and there are 21 young people in the process of becoming Brothers.

The Brothers of the District of Bogota carry out their educational and evangelising mission in two centres of higher education: La Salle University of Bogota and a technological university called the Central Technical Institute, eight high schools in collaboration with the Colombian State, one teacher training college and seven private high schools. There is also a special programme from La Salle University called Utopia that trains young farmers from all over the country to be agricultural engineers and social leaders. This project received the National Peace Prize in 2013 for its contribution to the pacification of the country through social inclusion and for its educational project.
