As part of the celebration of the feast of Saint Mutien-Marie, on 30th November at 5.00 pm, the Novitiate in Nairobi was decked out for the occasion. With the presence of Brother Moses Abunya, Auxiliary Visitor of the Lwanga District of Africa, and several Brothers from the Scholasticate Community in Nairobi, the Novitiate Community in Nairobi (Kenya) celebrated the Eucharist to mark the beginning of religious life and the taking of the habit, presided over by Father Walter, a Salesian and one of the chaplains of the Community.

The six new novices, coming from Ethiopia, Mozambique and Nigeria, received the habit of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and, as a symbol of the Institute’s commitment to accompanying the new novices, they also received the Rule and the star of faith from the hands of Brother Moses.

Likewise, the seven novices who had celebrated their initiation into religious life a year ago, received the Brothers’ habit and reaffirmed their commitment and identity in the process of preparation for their first profession, which will take place in the coming months.

After the Eucharistic celebration and the photo session, novices, scholastics, formators and invited Brothers shared a pleasant fraternal dinner.

Currently, the Novitiate Community of Nairobi is made up of the novices: Getachew, Merga (Ethiopia); Ambrosio, Benedito, Delfino, Florencio, Honezimo, Jackson, Miguel, Neto, Pascoal (Mozambique); Jude, Richard (Nigeria); and their formators: Brothers Wole Olabanjo (Nigeria), Kassaye Antwan, Assistant Novice Master  (Ethiopia), Agustín Ranchal, Novice Master (Spain).
