We are grateful to the many Districts that shared examples of their collaboration in the synodal process with their local Church and dioceses. The notion of synodality is not foreign to our charism. From our origins we have been synodal; in assembly and in Chapter, together and by association, we have discerned the educational needs of the poor and working class. Furthermore, as General Councilor Brother Rafa Matas shared in his report, the current initiative of Pope Francis “should help us take a further step in our association with the laity. It is an opportunity to reflect and propose on how our local educational communities may implement and/or accompany the birth and development of communities of faith among all Lasallians.”
